Date: Jul 04 2001 Major: Math (This Major's Salary over time) This is a school that is trying to get rid of its reputationas a commuter school. Because of this I only recommend going to NYU if you come in with a near-perfect H.S. GPA and a very high SAT score. The students for the most part are shallow and snooty. Certain parts of the campus are nice and recently renovated, especially the new dorm rooms, but many classrooms are run-down, and the overall facilities
are below average. Unless you are a student that they feel
will bring them 'prestige', such as by winning an academic competition or are a student that is demographically interesting, the school merely views you as a source of revenue. If you want to go to a school with a good reputation, I suggest thay you go to Columbia or Cooper Union, it is free! The employment support services for Alumni are sparce, and the services that they do provide are not very helpful and they charge a lot of money for them. For a few hundred dollars, they will put your resume on a web-site! WOW. Even though academically, NYU is quite rigorous, in private industry most hiring managers are not really impressed by NYU because hiring managers have their traditional view of NYU as a St. John's for the spoiled, or a wanna-be Columbia.
