I came to BU thinking that I would be challenged much more here than at my state university, and I have been sadly disappointed. The weed-out classes are hard, for sure, but my other humanities classes haven't been very hard, although the teachers have been nice and knowledgeable. But BU is ridiculously expensive, and rather than using your $50,000+ to improve programs or even to renovate the nastier dorms on campus (mostly anywhere except StuVi and some of the brownstones), BU has chosen to build a giant $100 million dining hall/office building we don't need and a 23 million dollar lacrosse stadium. I'm insulted by the way they waste our money. And the administration has handled the recent sexual assaults on campus very poorly. BU will suck your money up. If you intend to go to grad school after college and you aren't interested in a highly competitive field, I wouldn't go here. I love the city, but the school wasn't for me.
