The bottom line with BU is the cost. If you don't get financial aid and have to put yourself through school fully/partially, do not come here. For Over $50K a year, you get very little. Housing is a hassle, gen-eds are tedious, and it's kind of a rat race. I'm extremely passionate about communications and with a concentration in public relations, I'm really excited to graduate and start my career. But, for the cost, BU is not worth it. I've have a few great professors, but most are either indifferent, average, uninterested or completely self obsessed. Also, if you're looking for a typical college experience, you won't get it here. Unless you decide to do greek life or know someone, you won't be going to big parties and if you do you have to pay to get in. The off-campus scene is much more fun but you don't really have access to it until you're a sophomore or junior, or know upperclassmen. There are lots of rich prissy bitches who drive their Audis to SMG but there are also people who are on full scholastic rides and are down to earth. Honestly, it all depends on what you're looking for in the "college experience", and the type of people you meet. Disregarding the amazing friends I've met, I most definitely would have gone to a school with more liberal financial aid or a state school. You're paying for connections. Also, Boston is beat for night life unless you're 21. All in all, you're paying for connections and the name, not the education or experience.
