Minuses
  • It's really expensive and probably not worth it unless you can get a big scholarship. It's nearly 50,000 a year and will increase each year you attend.
  • No language classes
  • High level classes are super hard
  • Quite a few professors and TA's are poor English speakers and may be hard to understand.
  • The city of Troy is crappy and unsafe
  • All the students are extremely tall. If you are below 6'1" you will feel like a midget. Avoid if you don't want to be towered over.
  • The college's plan. It spends millions on useless buildings, pays the president a few more million, then raises tuition.
  • Many building have no AC or elevators
  • How about walking up 100 stairs, then a huge hill?
  • So freaking cold in the winter
  • Bad housing plan. Juniors and Seniors get the worst dorms.
  • Pluses

  • Good variety of extracurricular activities
  • You will learn a lot if you manage to pass class
  • Good variety of classes
  • Food is actually edible and can even be above average occasionally.
  • Campus is decent looking
  • Decent amount of events/activities
  • Could be either…

Programs like NRB, Helps you get acquainted but you arrive a week earlier.

High percentage of students in fraternities, good if you want to join one but bad if you don't and they knock on your door at 2am.

    Overall I give it a C+ or a 5.5/10
