Im an indian student so i was wondering if racism is an issue at BU . and is the cost of living at bu v expensive? |
Racism is never an issue here. We have one of the most diverse campuses in the US. I have friends of every religion, from every country, of every background, etc. You will certainly not feel out of place. One of the best things about BU is our diverse student body. |
Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
BU is a really big school, with very little "real" college campus. If that does not bother you, BU is a great place to spend four years. The first year is tough, and a lot of people may transfer out to state schools. But really, it weeds out the antisocial types. To succeed here you need to be somewhat outgoing, but once you put yourself out there it pays off. There are numerous clubs and activities around campus and Boston. As a student in SMG (you'll learn to love acronyms, as every school goes by them), the school is super competitive. Some people will stab you in the back to get ahead, and some people will cheat to get good grades. That said, you pay the high tuition costs for the best networking. Most of your peers will be incredibly successful, and some will be running companies right after graduation. If you care about making money and you have a thick skin, BU is perfect for you. If you need lots of hand holding (ie professor face time) and want a serious party school, do not go to BU. Also, do not go to BU if money is a serious issue for you. Sad but true, a lot of the kids have more money than god, and this makes some feel uncomfortable. Upside, you will go to some of the hippest parties and clubs (buying a table is popular) if you take advantage of the oppurtunity. BU students are well prepared for careers and typically brilliant. Grat school, worth every penny if you embrace it.
