I may be a dinosaur, but I found JHU to be a wonderful college on a beautiful campus. I grew up in Baltimore, so I like the city, end of that story. I was never rebuffed by faculty. Students in some classes were competitive, but then so was I. No, it is not the school for everyone (what school is?); it is a school for motivated people who are driven to learn, will use all resources available (including faculty, deans, grad students, the libraries), and who will master the subject material by learning, not by memorizing.
