Major: Music - Performance (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm a Cello Performance major. First and foremost, if you're a music performance major, STUDY WITH A TEACHER YOU LIKE. It's not so much about the school as your teacher. The faculty here are top notch, but the curriculum calls for a lot of class time, and often time feels like it leaves to little time to practice. There are enough large ensembles to include everyone (Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orrchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Chorus, Women's Chorus, Men's Chorus, Percussion ENsemble, etc…) and calls it "Music for Grown Ups": it requires a lot of student dedicaiton, and you must schedule your own rehearsal times, sometimes making it hard to coordinate. Generally very good education.
