After completing two years at RIT, the only thing keeping me there is the academics. RIT is quite challenging, and the education and experience you receive is worth the five years of attendance. The social life at school is mediocre. The 70/30 ratio of males to females becomes extremely evident at most (not all) parties where the few cute girls who're actually single are surrounded by three guys each, while all of the other guys are busy getting wasted. This is the scene at MOST RIT gatherings. The parties thrown by the sports teams and the greeks have a bit more women and a livelier atmosphere, but you need to know people to find them. That being said, if you're looking for a place where every night you'll go out and party, look elsewhere. Weekends can be a lot of fun, especially with a good group of friends, but the demanding quarterly academic schedule doesn't allow much wiggle room for you to be drunk 5-7 nights a week without falling way behind. If you're looking for a place that will provide good education and prepare you for a prosperous future with some fun on the side, then RIT's the place.
