This is a great school with great opportunities. You are taken care of as a student, and if you know where you are going, this is the place which will get you there without much confusion or problems…as long as you are willing to work, of course. I came in as an undecided engineering, and the school did a great job to help me find exactly what I want. Most students have a lot of work, so no parties during weekdays… unless you are a photography or psychology student. Yet, on weekends, you can do whatever you please. Yes, this school has tons of nerds and tons of video game addicts, but there are also many cool people, you just have to be social enough to find them. If you get along well with people, play sports, dance, joke around, love to socialize, you will have a fun here. Before I came here, I read so many bad reviews about this school, and all of them turned out to be completely false. Professors here are amazing, intelligent, interesting and always willing to help. im sure there are some bad ones, but which school has 100% of perfect professors? Plus, you sign up for your own professors after first quarter, so you pick which professors to take. If you are an engineer, coursework is heavy, but managable if you work during weekdays, and a little bit on weekends. Many people work part time here also, so there is time even to make some cash. Unlike in most other colleges, freshmen are allowed to have cars here. The common dining hall - Gracies: The food is ok, if you like junk food, subs and burgers. If you are more of a healthy type, all they have for you is good salad, juice and fruits… the rest has an acquired taste and is usually overfried and nonchewable. Yet, other food is eatable, and one can compensate for the subs and burgers by going to a great new gym that is a 3 mins walk from dorms. Get the 10+ meal plan which has more debit to eat at other places besides Gracies- which few people like. The campus is very modern, all bricks, but there are many trees and decorations, and squirrels… tons of them… and deer… In fact, there is a forest right next to the dorms, and many guys go there to smoke pot. If you smoke mj, it is here for you; if you dont, then you barely ever see it. For cold winter, there are tunnels that connect all the dorms and food facilities, so you dont have to freeze to get breakfast or dinner. Also, the academic side is connected by tunnels also. But the dorms and the academic area is not connected by tunnels: my reason is they probobly want students to walk in the cold to wake up before class. Works on me. Also, there are many girls here, many are really pretty, but not enough normal guys for them. Most girls are not in engineering though, usually art, biotech, or liberal arts (which is true for every other school also), so they have to be met at social events and not tech classes. For girls, there are some hot guys, and average guys are existent, a lot of nerdy guys though. So the f/m ratio evens out.
