You will only be able to handle UO if you don't care about getting a good education (for instance ENORMOUS class sizes, you're only graded on your ability to fill out scantrons, very unchallenging and DUMMYed down curriculum), you don't mind living in a city full of weed-smokers who have no idea how to act in an actual society (ie, try ANY service…getting "fast food" will take a good 10-12 mins when the place is EMPTY. I waited in line (behind 2 people) for 30 minutes at the post office because the clerks were gossiping, talking about politics, telling their life stories to the customers. Thats the way it is here. People just TALK and don't work), only "night-life" is a bunch of hippie parties (WEED and alcohol), Eugene is the tinest no good city you will ever see (NO diversity, expect gays, transgenders, etc, NO businesses (forget about internships), NOTHING to do…other than shopping at some crappy dept stores or going to a movie, there's no city close (other than Portland, 2 hours away)).

Eugene is very beautiful and so is the UO campus. Very green, nice buildings. Awesome gym. But that's pretty much it. Huge amount of people in the school—you are an anonymous number.

People are really friendly, but most of the time they are also high…

Basically, you're stuck in a crummy town getting a crummy education with crummy high and drunk people.

But its an affordable education… (which is why I am here).

And by the way, I just transfered here last term…I went to a small, private university last year and I KNOW what a good education is like. And the difference is night and day.
