BU ROCKS! Period.

ACADEMICS: Academically, I'm getting a great education. The School of Management is a really progressive business school. It teaches a lot of teamwork and ethics, and I feel like in my two years here I have already learned more than I would have somewhere else. I have also had some of the most AMAZING professors both in business school and in the liberal arts school- the faculty is amazing.

REPUTATION: The school has a great reputation throughout the entire country- especially if you are in business, engineering, or communications. The business school is probably 2nd in terms of reputation only to Harvard in the area- better than BC, Northeastern, Bentley and even Babson. Rankings improve each year, and the school has a huge alumni network. If you are thinking about grad school, this school prepares you well, and top grad schools knows this and want BU grads.

SOCIAL LIFE / PEOPLE: There are so many different types of poeple here- all races, cultures, sexual orientations- and everyone is accepting (It is SO much different than our cross-town rivals in Chestnut Hill, where everyone looks the same…). Socially, I love it. There is a huge amount of independance in terms of how you choose to have fun. This is not a typical party school- but it is easy to find a party around campus or at other nearby schools if that's your scene. Hockey games are AWESOME, and the 4-way Boston rivalry between BU, BC, Northeastern and Harvard really can bring BU-ers together. And of course, there's Boston, and BU is right in middle of the city. Plenty of restaraunts and clubs and city life.

I have to say, some of these postings about BU are exceptionally negative… yes the guest policy can be a pain, yes there is a lot of red tape… but what do you expect from a huge private university in the middle of a city? BU is what you make of it. And if you want to learn a lot and have fun too, this is a great place to be.

questionHi! I will be a senior this year and am looking to apply to the management school as well. BU is my number one school at the moment and I was wondering if you could shed light on a few of my concerns ? thank you:)

1. grade inflation..? 2. no dorm parties ? 3. greek life? 4. straight guys?

Sorry these topics seem pretty shallow but I've heard a lot of negative information about those things from various websites.

Thank you so much :)
