I remember how this school showed up in Step 2. Chic film. Pity that the school always suffers from his students. Directors need hire case stude writer, to identify problem children. |
Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
NEW YORK UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF THE ARTS is in my subjective opinion as a union writer director producer who has had 30 million dollars approximately put into his work and has been a media professional now going on 28 years since the age of 18, is SOMEWHERE TO AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE as our most professional theater schools; the education is highly variable ranging from mediocre to poor; sexual and other forms of harrassment and mental abuse are rampant and it is a truly unhealthy place for young people; people with large names and psychiatric/criminal histories are often teaching; the kind of people you really wouldnt want your children exposed to; theater film media is a craft learned like shoe making you learn by apprenticing working your way up in a production company etc; most of the people teaching have little or no professional experience of any importance; the university actively discourages people from working professionally this in a business with a 95%+ unemployment rate; the school of the arts at NYU is perhaps the most prestigious institution of its kind; but like most performing arts schools in the country ( eg nyu yale mellon etc ) as professional trainging programs they are absolutely worthless at best and down right damaging at worst; one is better off getting a good liberal arts degree at a good city or state school and apprenticing oneself with a production company in the media field/ field of endeavor of ones choice; the quality of the coursework academically at the school of the arts is pure basket weaving.
