NYU is the PERFECT experience for someone mature enouph to handle it. This is NYC and no one will be there to hold your hand, both academically and socially. YOU must be the one getting out there! I was worried at first that I wasn't going to have the "college" experience, but by joining clubs and a sorority, I found my true home at NYU. In fact, by the time all my friends and I were juniors, everyone wished they could forego keg parties at their respective colleges and go to school at NYU. If you are looking for a "regular college" , (AKA Highschool Part II), do not go here. This is not a school to go to if all you care about is going to the "best" school, you will hate it! The academics are excellent. True, there is a lot of "red tape" but and NYU does treat you only as a $$$, but you know what? So does the real world! I am more prepared than anyone I know to handle post-graduation because of NYU. I personally think that those who were dissing NYU are a bunch of losers, they were complaining about things (such as social life) that aren't NYU's problem, the problem is their's. New York City is perfect for those who are strong, determined, outgoing, and friendly. So is NYU. The rest of the babies should go to some state college if they need their hands held for four years.
