Is boston university really hard to get into? what did you do that made them seem how great a student you were? |
Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
I love my classes and my professors, but there are a lot of snooty people, a lot of designer clothes and expensive name brands. If I go to class looking scrubby I feel like people are looking down on me. A lot of people I see walking around have a sort of rich-person snob aura. Other than that I feel like the administration is against me, the "system" wants to bring me down, just like it was in high school! I transferred from a smaller liberal school and it was so much better being treated as a responsible human being, without restrictions or curfews. Also, BU is entirely about money. You feel like you are being conned all the time. BU will milk you for everything you have in all areas of life and sometimes it feels like they think that is your only worth. My small school had a better sense of community, it felt like the adminstration wanted what was best for its students education. Here they'll sacrifice class size to build a flashy new building. Bad priorities. Although there are many good things about BU, especially the great professors, especially in the English department, and some of the people that I've met, I think you get a lot more out of a smaller school.
